Beyond the West - West Coasters Making Waves
Several West Coast connections were in action over the weekend at POWRi's 2nd Annual Battle at the Center in DuQuoin, Illinois. In the 40-lap finale, San Jose native Thomas "T-Mez" Meseraull, the 2004 BCRA champion battled side-by-side for the duration of the A-main with California native Bryan Clauson. Clauson was victorious at the finish over T-Mez. The two swapped positions countless times in the indoor race. These two West Coast natives showed their skills and will surely be favorites in the 2012 Chili Bowl Midget Nationals. Arizona's Casey Shuman placed fourth while California native Danny Stratton claimed sixth. Both Clauson and Meseraull claimed wins in their respective Qualifying races. Video of the thrilling battle between Clauson and T-Mez is below.
That's a great run for an EcoTec power plant. Kudos to Chett on the third-place run, but the article focuses on West Coast racers. Very glad to see the RRE Chevy EcoTec running with the best, but if we were to consider every West Coast engine in articles, it'd be nearly every racer with the abundance of Esslinger and Fontana power plants that are currently competing.
really sick and tired of listening to this guy hijacking many press releases about his RRE Ecotec propaganda... Calling it a midget motor is false advertisement if you ask me. Can't compete on any tracks over 1/6 mile!!!!
Hay Robert the 3rd place car, Chet Gherke, was running a stock RRE 2.4l Eco Tec.
